A company whose adjustment work is partly governed by accessibility law ought to take the subject seriously on its own website.
Targets
Operable by keyboard alone. Legible to screen readers. Contrast clearing WCAG AA at body size. Still usable when text is scaled up or when styling fails to load entirely.
Construction
- Headings that describe what follows them, nested in a sensible order.
- Text alternatives on meaningful images; decorative graphics marked as decorative.
- Link text that names its destination rather than saying click here.
- No information conveyed by colour alone.
Where it falls short
Third-party components, call tracking among them, sit partly outside our control and may not hold the same standard. Where one blocks you, say so and the same information will reach you another way.
The other kind of accessibility
Distinct from this web page: section 404 of the ADA 2010 Standards governs how doors on an accessible route have to behave, and a meaningful share of the adjustment work this company performs exists because of it. Opening force, closer sweep timing, hardware mounting height, clear width. If your question concerns a door rather than a screen, that is a service call and a productive one.
